If fully funded, 2100 could be complete and ready for operation within a year.

Donate to Fire Up 2100

Like all steam locomotives, Reading No. 2100 requires annual repair and maintenance before it can operate again. Though rebuilt in recent memory, the locomotive has been inactive since 2008 and the American Steam Railroad has elected to perform an extensive mechanical inspection before 2100 will run again.

Nearly $300,000 has been invested to move Reading No. 2100 from Washington to Cleveland, Ohio and early estimates to fund its return to safe and compliant operational status are expected not to exceed $700,000.
